Michelle is part-time PhD student in the School of Sport and Exercise Science at the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥.
Michelle’s main research interest is formation of coaches’ identity within sport. Her PhD research concerns key events within a coach’s career that may cause their identity to be challenged, changed, or consolidated. She is conducting a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with a range of coaches within the sporting industry.
Her supervisors are Dr Christian Edwards, Dr Don Vinson and Dr Andrew Cale.

In addition to working towards her PhD, Michelle is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching Science and Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching Science degree. Outside of the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, Michelle is a Level 3 Netball Coach, Tutor for England Netball and Selector for the Severn Stars Netball franchise.
