Students
B is for Business
Create your own real business. Business means for the lifetime of the business, not just the time at university. Taking part in BOSS gives you a chance to achieve an accredited Institute of Leadership professional membership. From this, you are granted access to the Institute of Leadership networking and support platforms, enabling you to have contact with possible mentors and industry connections, as well as access to business development tools. This ensures that the benefits of the BOSS programme will continue long past your university student years.
O is for Opportunity
As a student you get the chance to create and run your own business with support and feedback from local business leaders. Mentors within the University will also help you to shape your business concepts into true business proposals for a ‘Dragons Den’ type finale. The winners also get a chance to promote their new business at a Chamber of Commerce Business Expo on the stand with Milford Research and Consultancy Limited including social media and other marketing opportunities and materials.
S is for Sponsorship
The competition winners and runners up receive a cash prize to help to realise, build and launch their business. There may also be opportunities of further sponsorship directly from the Dragons at the finale.
S is for Support
You will receive coaching, mentoring and assistance from the university team and the ‘dragons’ throughout the process and beyond your time at the university. This also comes in forms of media coverage for the newly founded businesses, a way to spread awareness about their achievements/business concept outside of the university and with preexisting parties interested in BOSS.
You have to be in it to win it – so find out below who to contact to enter this programme!
