Mia Radinovic
Mia Radinovic, a Human Biology student, who has been recognised for her final year’s work, has graduated.
Mia Radinovic was awarded the Top Project Award at the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ by the Royal Society of Biology for her independent research project (dissertation).
“I was very happy I could do my research independently in a lab as this gave me a lot of experience and practical knowledge, and I was proud my work was acknowledged,” said Mia.
The 22-year-old was born and grew up in Rijeka, a small city in Croatia, but has lived in Worcester for the last three years.
“I have always wanted to study abroad to challenge myself,” she said. “I browsed through many universities in the UK, but Worcester stood out to me. I was interested by various science courses offered, high student satisfaction numbers, and smaller course sizes. And of course, the city itself is very idyllic-looking, peaceful and great for studying.”
She said she had really enjoyed her time at the University and on the course, despite the effects of the pandemic on her second year, with some study moving online. “My lecturers still made an exceptional effort to organise in-person practical sessions whenever possible. I also met so many amazing and interesting people among my peers, lecturers, and work colleagues in Worcester Students’ Union with whom I am still in contact with.”
Having relocated to Bristol, Mia has decided to gain experience in the industry, preferably in research, and in the next couple of years plans to enrol in postgraduate studies when she has decided in which direction she wants to develop her career.
