Joanne is the Head of Department for the Department of Social Work
Her career began as a volunteer youth worker, working with young people with learning disabilities. Having gained 25 years experience of working within the profession, Joanne is now a lecturer and researcher in the field. During her career, she has worked in a range of settings and locations across the country from County Durham to Plymouth.
Joanne's passion, interest and knowledge of working with people is evident within her lectures. She works closely with all students to enable them to reach their aspirations and goals and achieve the degree they are capable of. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys riding her bike and hopes that one day, she will ride from Lands End to John O'Groats.
