How can contemporary fine art drawing and painting practice be embedded into Meeting Centre culture?
Gemma Moore is an award-winning British Artist, Dementia Arts Practitioner, Youth Trustee for Meadow Arts and IYP Consultant for Esmee Fairbairn, London. Gemma holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Fine Art from the Hereford College of Arts and the Birmingham School of Art.
Gemma became engaged with developing creative projects for people living with dementia as part of a project called Heritage Pathfinders, and it was led by the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, Supersum and Herefordshire Community Foundation. It was through this project Gemma was able to apply her Fine Art specialist knowledge of mark making into Meeting Centre Culture and explore how effective this could be in alleviating some of the symptoms of dementia. Key outcomes of this project included A Drawn Together Manual and an exhibition titled Drawn in Time held at the Grange Court in Leominster in December 2022.
Qualifications
First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art from the Hereford College of Arts
Masters Degree in Fine Art from the Birmingham School of Art, as part of Birmingham City University
ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management
