Teaching and Research
Gill’s main research interests are around the investigation and understanding of violence, particularly sexual violence and domestic abuse.
Gill is particularly interested in the use of bystander intervention programmes to address sexual and domestic violence on university campuses, and her research includes evaluating the effectiveness of bystander intervention training, perceptions of consent and exploring student behaviour around reporting violence and abuse.
Gill has applied forensic psychology within a range of police investigations and has advised police on cases of false allegations, and police strategies for recognising and responding to vulnerability. Gill is also the Admissions Tutor for the Psychology programme and leads the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥’s Bystander Intervention Programme.
