Andrea is a full-time PhD student in the School of Science and the Environment at the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ within the Sustainable Environments Research Group.
Andrea’s main research interest is using remote sensing for monitoring. Her PhD research concerns using multi-scale remote sensing data to understand bumblebee wildflower meadow habitat preferences.
Her supervisors are Dr Kate Ashbrook and Dr Fleur Visser at the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ and from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Andrea is very grateful to the for co-funding her PhD studentship.
Prior to commencing her PhD, Andrea worked as a professor and researcher at the Technological Costa Rican Institute (TEC). As a professor, she taught general GIS courses for undergraduates at the Agricultural Engineer School and on the postgraduate master’s degree in Technology and Science for Sustainable Development. She participated as a researcher in various projects, the most recent one “Using UAV for evaluating the quality and development of forest plantations” at TEC.
Qualifications
