His Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester, has officially opened the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥â€™s Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Building.
The building is a state-of-the-art centre of learning for future generations of doctors, nurses, paramedics and more.
The Duke, who is the Chancellor of the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, joined staff, students and local dignitaries as he was shown around the new facility and given demonstrations by students of various medical disciplines.
His Royal Highness unveiled a plaque and delivered a speech in which he praised the work of university staff in bringing the facility to the city of Worcester.
Named after the first woman to qualify as a physician and surgeon in the UK, the building is part of the University’s Severn Campus for Health, Wellbeing, and Inclusive Sport, which has seen the University regenerate a largely derelict riverside industrial estate.
