Aishah Bibi
Aishah Bibi has achieved a First-Class Honours in Integrated Working with Children and Families.
“I was really elated to learn that I had achieved a First,” said Aishah. “Hard work does pay off! I’m proud of myself.” Aishah is now training to become a teacher. Her plan, once she qualifies, is to become a primary school teacher with a specialism in early years.
“The course related to my interest area of working with children and fit in perfectly with my HND due to it being a top-up course,” she said. “As well as this, I had visited numerous open days for different universities but the ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ stood out for me. I loved how there was flexibility in the course and how it was structured. Also, during the Open Day I had met some of the tutors who really made me feel at ease. I knew on the drive back home that it would be my first choice of university.”
During her time at the University Aishah was elected as a Student Rep, which meant representing her fellow students’ views and putting them forward. She was also put forward to attend the BECERA conference, where she and a group of students and her tutor presented a poster symposium on Living in Poverty and the Impact on Home Learning. Aishah described it as “an amazing experience”.
